Free

------

This morning I took I break from exercise and relaxed. Two 12 hour work days truly kill me. Instead, I got ready and went to the Pinellas Living Green Expo! (I have also seen it written as above: Tampa Bay)I went last year when it was in Clearwater, too. They have a huge open area with different environmental groups/companies with free brochures, bags, etc. The focus is on sustainability and living a more green life. In addition to that, they have a schedule of free classes. I love free events.
I went to two classes today. One on Local Food and another titled, "When Less is More." From the site, "The impacts and consumption by humans is not sustainable at present levels. In order to achieve sustainability, a reorientation of priorities, values, and practices will be necessary.  In some cases, “more is less” and “less is more."
Totally informational and eye-opening!
The expo is going on tomorrow, too and Mirza will be attending with me:)
---
After that, Mirza came over and we decided to go to the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary on Indian Shores Beach. I saw their site a few weeks ago, but they had a booth at the expo that reminded me! Totally free and open to the public.

More free events from today later!

Question: What free things have you done in your community lately?!

Hi there!! I'm so glad to have found your blog!! There are so few physicians with a blog. :) I'm actually starting dental school in 3 months, so maybe I can add to the "Dr" population!!! I love that you have such fun and cute patients...it feels awesome to make those connections with great people, especially if you can help them through a tough time in their life!

Hey, thanks for visiting. And good luck with dental school. I am NOT a doctor. I am a Registered Nurse:)

Totally have no idea what your nursing stuff meant, but it sounded totally fascinating! Haha.

Free things? Hmm. We go to our local park which has free miniature golf. We used to go to the arboretum a lot, but its far away from us now. I think I need to do some more local research!

Most times, I think people decide on comfort measures wayyy too late! We have a really really really old patient who is suddenly on a vent and I'm pretty sure this patient won't come off of it. :( I'm probably the only 25 year old who calls their parents and tells them they need to work on their living wills!!
