work work work

Work was horrible today. Absolutely ran the entire day. Literally, as soon as I saw down to chart or started to do one task, someone would call and I would have to do another. My patients were all male and all extremely needy. The most needy was this 36 year old who was in for alcohol withdrawal, DT's, and r/o GIB. ughhhh, I know I shouldn't talk about it, but I had no patience for this dude because 1. he did this to himself 2. he kept urinating all over himself. I literally changed his gown three times in the course of 15 minutes because first, he urinated all over himself and the floor, then his grandma spilled his water on him, and then he pissed again. I can't explain how frustrating the whole thing was; that and he was not all there, obviously and he was completely jaundice--yellow from head to toe. I lost all patience today.
You guys don't even want to know about my other people. I got into quite a few fights with some pumps today, especially a kangaroo tube feeding---*head desk*

On a lighter note, I decided to chronicle what will be for lunch tomorrow!
I made a pita sandwich using these breads:

I stuffed it with roasted red pepper hummus, spinach, tomato, cucumber, shredded carrots, and some black olives!!
I can't wait to eat lunch tomorrow!:)
I also packed yogurt, larabar, yogi detox tea, nectarine, banana, raspberries.

Before work, I usually eat oatmeal and PB/AB whole grain toast. I arrive to work before 7 and usually take my "breakfast" before 10am. It's only 15 minutes, so I'm going to eat the yogurt, banana, and try some tea.

Lunch definitely depends on the work day. I eat lunch anywhere between 1330 and 1630.
In general, I am held over until it is time to go to home after a long 12 and a half hours (where I then proceed to binge eat, haha kidding).

Let's hope tomorrow is a better day!!! I actually got a call this morning to see if I wanted the day off, but I have NO PTO, so I had to say no. Almost wish I would have taken it:/

Loved your post today! I like that I know what your talking about nursing-wise lol. I used to babysit a baby that had a kangeroo pump and I fed him through it! And alcohol withdrawl patients are the worst...yikes!
